The Art Bonus is an important initiative within the sphere of urgent provisions for the protection of the cultural heritage, the development of culture and the revival of tourism, introduced by Decree-Law No. 83 of 31 May 2014, then converted with amendments into Law No. 106 of 29 July 2014 and subsequently made permanent by Stability Law 2016 of 28 December 2015, No. 208.
This is a tax credit for those who make liberal cash disbursements in support of culture and entertainment. It is therefore an important tool to promote and support patronage in favour of publicly owned cultural heritage.
Those who make liberal donations in cash to support culture, as provided for by the law, will be able to enjoy important tax benefits in the form of a tax credit (to be divided into 3 annual instalments of the same amount). In fact, the Art Bonus donor has a tax credit equal to 65% of the sum donated. This means that he will be able to recover a large part of the donated money, as his taxes will be reduced by an amount equal to 65% of his donation.<\/p>\n

1) Natural persons
2) Enterprises
3) Non-commercial entities (Third Sector entities, associations, foundations, social enterprises not established as joint stock companies or cooperatives. E.g. banking foundations)<\/p>\n

1) Individuals and entities not carrying out a business activity benefit from the Art Bonus in their income tax return.
2) Holders of business income benefit from the Art Bonus in compensation.<\/p>\n

Modalities for payment of the donation amount<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

1) via bank (e.g. bank transfer);
2) by post office (e.g. bank transfer, payment into a current account in the name of the beneficiary);
3) by means of the other payment systems envisaged by Article 23 of Legislative Decree 241\/97, i.e. by debit, credit and prepaid cards, bank cheques and bank drafts.<\/p>\n
