\"\"Silvestro Amanzio Moroncelli (born Giovanni Francesco), abbot of the Silvestrine congregation of S. Stefano del Cacco, was born in Fabriano in 1652.<\/p>\n

He was a famous cosmographer, geographer and topographer. In addition to the two Casanatensi globes, he designed two globes for the Biblioteca Alessandrina in Rome and two for the Biblioteca di S. Giorgio Maggiore in Venice. He dedicated others to illustrious people: among these, the Celestial one for Cardinal Albani of Urbino, the Celestial and Terrestrial one for Prince Odescalchi of Milan and the Terrestrial and Celestial globe for Christina of Sweden, who emigrated to Rome, and who appointed Moroncelli as her cosmographer. <\/p>\n

\n

Among the famous topographic maps are the one of the Marca and the province of Fermo published by Domenico De’ Rossi and the one of the territory of Fabriano.<\/p>\n

The two globes cost Casanatense 402 scudi of which 200 constituted the compensation for the author. Moroncelli died in Fabriano in 1719. <\/div>\n
