Concession for the Use of Spaces

  1. Concession for the Use of Spaces

The Casanatense Library permits the individual or private use of the Monumental Hall and the other rooms in it for the organisation of events of cultural relevance (e.g. conventions, conferences, extraordinary and exclusive guided tours, temporary exhibitions), video, television and film shoots, and photographic services.

The concession for the use of spaces must be authorised by the Directorate, subject to verification of compatibility with the historical-artistic character of the institution, in accordance with the provisions of Article 20 of Legislative Decree no. 42 of 22 January 2004 (‘Cultural Heritage and Landscape Code’) and is governed by specific agreements signed by the parties involved.

As regards the fees to be paid for the use of the library spaces, please refer to the detailed provisions of the attached schedule of fees, drawn up on the basis of Ministerial Decree no. 161 of 11 April 2023 (‘Guidelines for the determination of the minimum amounts of fees and considerations for the concession of use of the assets entrusted to state institutes and places of culture’), implementing art. 108, paragraph 6, of Legislative Decree no. 42 of 22 January 2004 (‘Cultural Heritage and Landscape Code’).

It should be noted that the concessionaire shall be responsible for the sums owed to the employees of the Casanatense Library participating in third party activities in order to guarantee the protection of the cultural heritage as well as the security of the institute and its users, the expenses for any security deposit required by the grantor, pursuant to art. 108, paragraph 4, of Legislative Decree no. 42 of 22 January 2004 (‘Cultural Heritage and Landscape Code’) and any ancillary services required (e.g. food and beverage, technical assistance for the entire course of the events, cleaning services).

Interested parties may send a written request to the Directorate, taking care to specify the type of event, the date of the event and its duration, the number of participants expected and, in relation to video, television, film and photo shoots, to also indicate the production company, the title of the film or broadcast, the description of the scenes to be filmed in the Library premises, the number of staff members present, the technical equipment to be used, and the duration of the shoot.
