Casanatense Library Via S. Ignazio, 52, Roma

Opening and vernissage of the exhibition ‘Encounters - Travel Stories’ by Mario Panizza Thursday 19 March, 5 p.m.; free admission. From 19 March to 30 April 2026, the Casanatense Library will have the honour of hosting ‘Encounters - Travel Stories’, an exhibition of paintings by Mario Panizza; An architect, retired professor of Architectural and Urban Composition, and Rector of Roma Tre University from June 2013 to June 2017, he has been painting for over 60 years. He has held numerous solo exhibitions over the years, all in institutional venues (Goethe Institut, Brazilian Embassy, PAN Palazzo delle Arti Napoli, Lumsa University, Curtin University in Perth, Australia, Institute of Roman Studies, Foreign Ministry Club), on specific themes: 'Industrial Archaeology', “Manhole Covers”, “Shadows”, “Reflections” and “Hidden Figures”. For about two years, he has been dedicating himself to Encounters, a completely new theme, as he had rarely painted people before. The canvases, almost all 100X100 cm, are in black and white, acrylic on cotton. The subjects, always figurative, belong to the “Precisionism” style.
