On Saturday 26 September, to mark European Heritage Days, the Library’s Monumental Hall will be open to visitors from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm, with the opportunity to take part in short guided tours of the current exhibitions: ‘Creatures of the Imagination in Book Illustration’ and ‘Brother Sun, Sister Moon: 800 Years of St Francis’.
At 11.00 am, Stefano Nespoli and Ivano Francavilla will also discuss the recent restoration work carried out on the wooden elements of the grand 18th-century Hall and will talk about how to prevent potential damage to a heritage that has been handed down to us from the past to be passed on to future generations.
