  1. Gifts

The Library may also acquire material through the form of gifts with the aim of increasing its collections. Donations must, in all cases, be consistent with the nature and purpose of the Library. Any request for a donation must necessarily be sent to the Gift Office, which will evaluate it. This request must also be accompanied by the donor’s personal details (individual, institution, etc.).

Works already present in the Library’s collections will not be accepted (editions already owned may be taken only if they are useful in the case of particular needs for use and conservation), extracts of publications already owned, CD-ROMs, photocopies, narrative works.

No material in a poor state of preservation will be acquired.
Incomplete collections of periodicals or serial publications will not be considered: however, the Library reserves the right to acquire missing issues to fill any gaps in the collections.

The material acquired as a gift becomes unavailable to the State and cannot in any way be claimed by donors.

Acceptance or non-acceptance of material is at the discretion of the Library.
